Last week, for my day job I had the pleasure of listening to Chris and Nik Nikic speak. Chris Nikic is the first and only person with Down Syndrome to complete an Ironman and run all six Global Marathon Majors. He has also won two ESPYs, become a global Ambassador for the Special Olympics, Ironman and Laureas.

TBR - To Be Read

In addition to writing I love to read and in the summer I try to read as much as possible. For the last two years, I have had the New Years Resolution to read 100 books in the year. I met the goal last year and am well on my way for this year. I am currently at 49 books which puts me 6 books ahead of "on pace" to complete the challenge again.

Poetry

One of the things I loved to do was write poetry. I went through a poetry writing phase in high school where I always carried around a notebook and wrote poems. My senior year I took a computer class and was quick to finish all of my assignments for the class. We were allowed to use the computer for "school appropriate" things after we were done. In 2002, having access to a computer and the internet (without having to get off when someone needed the phone was HUGE). I would take my poems and enter them onto poetry sites like poetry.com. Eventually, life moved forward and I forgot about poetry.com and other such websites.
