Maybe I should have just titled this what do you read with?
When I was a young reader, if we went on a car trip I had to guess about the number of books I would need (and how I would transport them). The time I struggled the most was when we flew to Florida because I had to be cautious on how many books I packed because they weighed my suitcase down.
Now, we have more options: Kindles, eReaders, phone apps, physical books. So how do you read? I've got a plan for every occassion. For the pool? I take books from my to be read shelf that I don't mind being in the elements or I take my ancient (and I mean ancient) Kindle. It is so old I read with it in the pool because it has long lived its life. I love traveling with a few physical books because a lot of places I travel to have lending libraries and I like the idea of easily getting a book out of my house and letting someone else enjoy it (but then someties I bring more back home, which defeats the purpose). I use my iPad when I want to read on the elliptical (it fits perfectly) or when I want to read in bed.
As an elementary teacher I tell my kids all the time. It doesn't matter how you read, what you read, where you read, or how you read. Reading has so many benefits...and not just for kids.
