TBR - To Be Read

Published on 7 June 2025 at 08:21

In addition to writing I love to read and in the summer I try to read as much as possible. For the last two years, I have had the New Years Resolution to read 100 books in the year. I met the goal last year and am well on my way for this year. I am currently at 49 books which puts me 6 books ahead of "on pace" to complete the challenge again.

My problem is, I have stacks of books at home I don't always pick to read before looking on my Kindle or Library app for another book to read. In addition to those books at home I have a whole list of books I'd like to read that I've created from Facebook posts, personal recommendations or to continue series I like or want to reread.

Do you have a to be read pile? Bookshelf? What are you currently reading? What do you hope to read?

My current focus has been rereading the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich. I read a good chunk of them when back in the early 2000s and in true me fashion got behind. I wanted to catch back up but then decided sometimes it is best to just start at the beginning. I'm currently on book 4 (yup, I have a long way to go). I've also been reading the Kate Burkholder series by Linda Castillo. Kate is the chief of police in a small town Ohio town. Kate is former Amish and must connect with the Amish in her community to solve heinous crimes.

I spent March and April decluttering my house, in an effort to clear my busy brain and I made a vow to clear out some of the books I've been saving on my bookshelf (ones I've read but decided to keep that maybe I don't need to keep anymore) and to read some books that I haven't read that are take up space (EVERYWHERE).

Happy reading friends!
