It is September. I find myself finally finding a spare moment to sit and blog. I'm a teacher and the adjustment from summer to school year, is never easy. I love teaching, I think I've always known that is what I wanted to do. My mom was a teacher and from an early age I remember going with her to her classroom during the summer to "set it up" or helping her check student work when I got older. It is a hard adjustment though from summer to school year and this year has felt like a marathon already (maybe it is that we started school a whole two weeks earlier than normal).
What I miss the most about summer, is all of my hobbies. Blogging, writing, scrapbooking, reading, playing the piano....there just isn't enough time for all of those things during the school year (or really ever it feels like). It isn't all bad, sometimes when there is less time to pick from, I have to be more intentional. I have to doom scroll less and take the time to blog while watching college football (love!).
Here's the reminder to myself and maybe to everyone to make sure we take time to slow down. Slow down and take the time to do the things that bring us joy.
